History was set in Adeyemi College of
Education, A.C.E. Ondo, with the very first Spelling Competition in the
institution courtesy of Spell Glamour. The event brought together students,
parents, educationists, and elites from various works of life.
The final which was opened by a remark from
the Project Manager and MD, ACE Glamour: Ayo Julius, saw 22 finalists with
their Fan Base (Team Members) exhibiting high-spirited competitiveness. While
some were able to finish TOP 10, with the help of one or two members of their
team, some exited solely because of misspellings from their team members; then,
‘SOMEONE’ did not use any of his lifeline.
We wouldn’t forget in a hurry, the moment
when tears flowed from the eyes of Speller 8, Elizabeth Sangodere when she missed
her spellings; however, she made it to the TOP 10, with the likes of Speller 6,
Eddy, whose birthday was the same day, and other seven (7) fantastic spellers.
Dr. Olasehinde, a Senior Lecturer of the
institution, who was the Pronouncer and Chief Panelist, needs to be applauded
for his professionalism. Ola Adene (Initiator, SPELL GLAMOUR) and Mr. Sam
Aiyesoro (ShopNig.com) were equally decent on the Panel; as assisted by Mr.
Alex Akinnibosun (AAUA Amebo Media), who reviewed corrections and Mary Aladegbongbe
(MC Buffy), who served as Rapporteur.
The elegant compere Omajuwa co-hosted the
event with amazing MC Succulent. Olayinka Ojo of Olayinka Ojo Photography,
bagged the ‘Man of the Year’ institution-based award.
Giving glory to God, we also want to sincerely
appreciate every partner, sponsor and volunteer, who ensured the success of the
project.
To this end, our morale is nourished with
excitements, as we are reassured that we are doing the right thing; to fulfil
our vision.
